Overcoming Barriers: Women in STEM

Overcoming Barriers: Women in STEM

Dr. Elizabeth Croft

Join the TRUSU Equity Committee as we mark International Women’s Day by hosting a lecture about overcoming the barriers that women face in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Discover how an important growing part of our economy is built and organized to exclude and discourage women and what we can do to eliminate these barriers.

We are proud to present Dr. Elizabeth Croft, Associate Dean of Education and Professional Development for the Faculty of Applied Science from UBC, as our lecturer for this event.

An author of over 120 refereed publications, Croft served as the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering (2010-2015), founded Westcoast Women in Engineering, Science, and Technology (WWEST), and has been named one of the top 100 most powerful women in Canada.

This free lecture experience exploring gender barriers for women in STEM will take place March 8, 2017 at 5PM in the TRUSU Lecture Hall!
