All are welcome, Snacks Provided
Patricia Soley-Beltran’s three hour workshop, SELF BY (COUNTER)DESIGN. TRANSGRESSING AESTHETIC IDENTITY RULES, aims to counter the transmission of cultural norms in visual culture while tackling issues of symbolic violence, fragmentation, rigid gender roles, consumerism and ethnocentrism. Soley-Bertran offers students, staff, and faculty at Thompson Rivers University an opportunity to participate and engage in imagining new ways of thinking, feeling, and desiring through a revision of the etymology of aesthetics.
