The BC proportional representation referendum is being conducted as a mail-in ballot from October 22 to November 30 December 7. This means that in order to receive your ballot to the correct address you need to update your voter registration information before November 23. You can also visit any Service BC location before November 30, 2018 December 7, 2018 to pick up a ballot or to submit your completed ballot.

Who can vote in the referendum?

You can vote in the referendum if you are:

  • a Canadian citizen,
  • 18 or older as of November 30, 2018, and
  • a resident of B.C. for at least six months immediately before November 30, 2018

How do I vote?

All of the information you need to vote will be included in your voting package that is mailed to you in late October. You can mail in your completed package for free by dropping it off at any Canada Post location, including at the Canada Post box on campus in front of the Main Library, or at any Service BC location.

What do I do if I didn’t receive a voting package or it was sent to the wrong address?

If you haven’t received your voting package by early November for any reason, you can update your address online and have a new ballot sent to you or visit any Service BC location across the province to pick up a new package.
