SUMMARY:Level 1 Learn-to-Swim
DESCRIPTION:Swimming is not only a great way to stay healthy and fit—it’s also a vital life skill\, especially in a place like Kamloops\, home to over 100 lakes and rivers just an hour’s drive away. \nMany students at TRU want to enjoy these outdoor water activities—but not everyone knows how to swim. That’s why the TRUSU Services Committee has partnered with the Canada Games Aquatic Centre to offer Learn-to-Swim lessons exclusively for TRU students! \nSession Outline:\nThe October Learn-to-Swim Session will be a 5-weeks long (10-lessons) program and will cover the basics of swimming and pool safety protocols. SUMMARY:Who Decides What? The Decisions That Shape Student Life
DESCRIPTION:Ever wondered who actually decides what student life at TRU looks like? The student experience is shaped by decisions made across the post-secondary system\, but it isn’t always clear who is responsible for what.  \nWho decides what students pay? Who decides what supports are available? Who makes choices about transportation\, housing\, and the resources students rely on every day? \nWhat role do different decision-makers play within the post-secondary system? And how can students understand where to bring their questions\, concerns\, and ideas? \nDrop by Student Street in Old Main from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to chat with the TRUSU Community Affairs Committee and learn how decisions are made\, who is involved\, and where to direct your questions\, concerns\, and ideas. \nBring your questions\, find out who has the answers\, and discover how the decisions shaping your student experience actually get made!
