Have you ever wanted to get more involved on campus? Meet other students with similar interests? Or make a difference in your community? We are looking for fifteen students to join TRUSU Committees for the 2023/24 term to help plan and implement our fall and winter activities for the upcoming year! 

This is a great opportunity to get more involved on campus and gain experience. Member at Large positions run from May 1, 2023 until April 30, 2024 and are paid to a maximum of 5 hours per week. In order to be eligible for the position you must be available to attend an in-person orientation from May 1-3, 2023 and must be registered at TRU as student in either the Winter 2023 semester or the Summer 2023 semesters.

Campaigns Committee

The Campaigns Committee of the TRU Students’ Union is made up of six students both elected and appointed. These representatives each serve a one-year term from May 1st to April 30th. The committee is chaired by the Vice President External and composed of two elected Campaigns Committee Representatives and three appointed members at large.

These representatives are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the annual Campaigns Plan for the Union which targets the municipal, provincial, and federal government to make changes in the interests of students. They are the people working hard to address issues that effect students such as student financial aid, institutional funding, public transit, and civic engagement. Entertainment Committee

The Entertainment Committee of the TRU Students’ Union is made up of six students both elected and appointed. These representatives each serve a one-year term from May 1st to April 30th. The committee is chaired by the Vice President Internal and composed of two elected Entertainment Committee Representatives and three appointed members at large.

These representatives are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the annual Entertainment Plan for the Union. They are the people working hard to bring you great events like the Back to School BBQ, and the Common Voices Lecture Series. Equity Committee

The Equity Committee of the TRU Students’ Union is made up of nine students both elected and appointed. These representatives each serve a one-year term from May 1st to April 30th. The committee is chaired by the Vice President Equity and composed of the Aboriginal Students’ Representative, the LGBTQ Students’ Representative, the Visible Minorities Students’ Representative, the Women’s Representative, and three appointed members at large.

These representatives are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the annual Equity Plan for the Union. They are the people working hard to bring you the Storytellers Gala, Pride Parade, and December 6th Vigil. For more information about the Equity Committee email equity@trusu.ca

Services Committee

The Services Committee of the TRU Students’ Union is made up of six students both elected and appointed. These representatives each serve a one-year term from May 1st to April 30th. The committee is chaired by the Vice President Services and composed of two elected Services Committee Representatives and three appointed members at large.

These representatives are responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the annual Services Plan for the Union. They are the people working hard to bring you great services like the student health and dental plan, the Upass, and many other great services. This is the group who administers the TRUSU Grants Program and the TRUSU Awards of Excellence. For more information about the Services Committee email s.aulakh@trusu.ca

University Affairs Committee

The University Affairs Committee of the TRU Students’ Union is made up of eight students both elected and appointed. These representatives each serve a one-year term from May 1st to April 30th. The committee is chaired by the President and composed of two elected University Affairs Committee Representatives and three appointed members at large.

These representatives are responsible for recruiting and resourcing student representatives on TRU committees, and planning and implementing campaigns seeking changes in the university. They are the people working hard on important institutional changes like better food service, more flexible and affordable parking, and cheaper textbook costs through increased use of Open Textbooks.
