On September 20, 2016 the TRU Students’ Union presented students priorities to the BC Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services.
“We were pleased to have the opportunity to present students priorities to government,” said Amber Storvold, TRUSU Vice-President External. “We look forward to having our recommendations included in the committee’s report to be released in November.”
The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services tours the province each fall to hear presentations from community groups. The committee forms recommendations for the upcoming provincial budget based on these submissions.
“In this submission students have raised two key issues with government,” said Storvold. “We need a financial aid system that works for all students in this province and TRU needs appropriate government funding to operate as a full university.”
