If you’ve been in the House of Learning this semester, you probably noticed some changes! Why? As TRU has grown in the diversity of programs and the number of students, the need for more dedicated study space has grown.
In fact, earlier this year, you told us study space was a top priority in the Student Budget Consultation. In response, TRU committed to explore opportunities to renovate or reconfigure existing study spaces and other spaces to create a better experience. The first of those opportunities was in the House of Learning!
House of Learning Updates:
This is part of a campus-wide project to create better, purpose-driven study spaces, and the Students’ Union is excited to partner with the TRU Campus Infrastructure and Sustainability Department to give students like you a voice in future upgrades in other buildings!
We are hosting a survey to better understand where you study and why, the ways you study, if campus provides the right spaces, and what good study space should include. If you’ve studied in the House of Learning, you can also provide feedback on the upgrades there.

We are also hosting consultations on plans to upgrade study space in specific buildings – one at a time. Check out trusu.ca/study-space to learn more and how you can help shape the plans!
