The TRU Students’ Union is exited to announce the launch of it’s new housing registry service. Housing has been identified as a top priority of the TRUSU Services Committee. Through this housing registry service we plan to connect landlords with renters and students with their peers to facilitate housing opportunities for our members.

“TRUSU recognizes the struggle many TRU students face when it comes to securing off-campus housing”, said Samantha Baker TRUSU, Vice President Services. “This housing registry is one small step to help to alleviate that struggle.”

As the city of Kamloops works to address the issue of affordable housing, TRUSU wants to be able to provide students a reliable service to secure housing during their studies at TRU. The registry is free of charge to both landlords seeking to list and to those seeking housing. The Housing Registry will also allow the Union to monitor listings to prevent fraudulent posts as well as provide filters and refined searches targeted at the needs of university students.

“Our goal is to ensure that all TRU students have and affordable safe place to live. Our hope is that this registry will contribute to achieving that goal”, said Baker.

The TRUSU Housing Registry is now live and we encourage potential landlords to add their listings here!
