The TRU Students’ Union is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring and participating in the 2nd Annual Downtown Kamloops Pride Parade!

The Kamloops Pride Parade is an important celebration of LGBTQ+ folks and an opportunity to claim Kamloops as a safe and welcoming place for the LGBTQ+ community. Supporting this event means that TRUSU can continue to spread its organizational values of equity and respect for everyone regardless of who you are, what you look like, or what you believe, throughout Kamloops and the region.

“TRUSU is proud to be the organization that first brought pride parades to Kamloops 7 years ago,” said Sierra Rae TRUSU Vice President Equity. “We were so happy to see Kamloops Pride’s success with the first downtown pride parade last year and we are pleased to sponsor this event again this year,” she continued.

The 2nd Annual Downtown Kamloops Pride Parade will be hosted on Sunday, August 26 starting in Riverside Park. All are welcome to join and participate in the event. Visit the Kamloops Pride website for more information about the event.

About the Equity Committee

The TRUSU Equity Committee is a group of eight elected and appointed students who work to raise awareness about the systemic oppression of marginalized groups in society, and to challenge that oppression on campus.
