On January 29th, members of the Union met with the TRU Library to discuss the accessibility of their website. The discussion focused on improving the usability and student experience with library resources.
The TRU Library gathered input on when and why students use Library webpages, the layout and functionality of the site, and ease of access to necessary resources.
Students shared insights on how familiar they are with the resources, and provided suggestions to improve access to key functions, including the course readings & online textbooks, databases & research guides, space bookings, citation guides, and laptop rentals. Representatives also suggested improving the mechanisms for communication, which includes regular email newsletters and social media.
“The TRU Library interface has a lot of great content but can be difficult to navigate. We are looking forward to seeing how our user feedback might change the layout,” said Prabhleen Kaur, a Member at Large on the University Affairs Committee.
