Advocacy

TRUSU is committed to amplifying student voices and advocating for positive change on campus and beyond. Explore our initiatives promoting equity, sustainability, and student representation.

The Thompson Rivers University Students’ Union (TRUSU) actively advocates for student rights, equity, and meaningful representation. Through initiatives like Academocracy, Student Voices, and the Student Caucus, we ensure that students have a voice in decision-making processes. Our advocacy work also includes powerful campaigns such as ReconciliACTION, the EDI Lecture Series, and Pride Parade, promoting inclusion and social justice on campus. Whether advancing sustainability initiatives or empowering women through Women of TRU, we strive to create a campus where all voices are heard and valued. Explore our advocacy efforts and learn how you can get involved in making a difference.

Group advocacy includes campaigns and government relations where the organization lobbies the municipal, provincial, or federal governments for positive change, improvements to students’ educational experience on the TRU campus, and equity work where the organization advocates for equitable treatment for groups of our members.
