Member-at-Large Vacancies on TRUSU Committees

TRUSU needs you! We have three vacancies on TRUSU committees and are looking for students to help plan and implement our activities for the 2026/2027 year! This is a great opportunity to get more involved on campus and serve the community.

There are Member-at-Large positions on the Community Affairs Committee, the Entertainment Committee, and the Equity Committee. For more information on the work of each committee see below. Member at Large positions run until April 30, 2027. These are paid positions with a maximum of 5 hours per week.

Applicants must be available to attend the committee’s meeting times in order to be eligible for the position. Applications must be submitted by May 29, 2026 at midnight. Committee Descriptions

Each TRUSU Committee has a different area of responsibility with a number of ongoing programs that they manage as well as one-off projects they work on related to their scope of work. To find out which committee might be the best fit for you please read the descriptions below.

Community Affairs Committee

Members at Large on the Community Affairs Committee assist the elected representatives with the implementation of their annual plan. The Community Affairs Committee is responsible connecting, empowering, and engaging students in the off campus community. The Community Affairs Committee meets on Thursdays from 7PM-8PM.

Ongoing programs managed by the Community Affairs Committee include:

  • Students Vote
  • Community Fair
  • The Deals Discount Program
  • Beyond the Ballot
  • Campus 2050
  • TRUSU Pop-up Legal Clinics and Workshops
  • TRUSU Clothing Exchange

Entertainment Committee

Members at Large on the Entertainment Committee assist the elected representatives with the implementation of their annual plan. The Entertainment Committee is responsible for planning and implementing events and activities for students to connect socially outside of the classroom. The Entertainment Committee meets on Thursdays from 2:00PM-3:00PM.

  • Back-to-School BBQ
  • Welcome Back Breakfast
  • Outdoor Movie Night
  • Common Voices Lecture Series
  • Adventure Movie Nights
  • TRUSU Carnival
  • Winterfest
  • TRUSU Games Nights

Equity Committee

Members at Large on the Equity Committee assist the elected representatives with the implementation of their annual plan. The Equity Committee is responsible for planning and implementing equity initiatives to end systems and structures of oppression on campus and in the community. The Equity Committee meets on Wednesdays from 11:00AM-12:00PM.
