TRUSU Human Rights and Social Justice Club

Background:The Human Rights and Social Justice Club was founded to bring together individuals passionate about advocating for equality, freedom, and justice for all. Our mission is to raise awareness about social injustices, foster dialogue on human rights issues, and create a platform for positive change within our community. Through education, activism, and collaboration, we aim to make a difference locally and globally. Values We believe in equality, inclusion, and dignity for every human being, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or socio-economic status. Our club is committed to non-violence, empathy, and respect in all forms of advocacy, ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and valued. We work together to stand against oppression, discrimination, and injustice, fostering a community rooted in solidarity and mutual support. Goals: Our primary goals include raising awareness of human rights issues, educating our members and the community, and actively participating in campaigns and projects that promote social justice. We aim to collaborate with local and global organizations, organize workshops, and create spaces for open discussions. Additionally, we strive to provide resources and support to marginalized groups in our community. Meeting Dates We hold regular meetings twice a month, every other Wednesday at 5:30 PM, in a room of the Student Union Building agreed upon by all members. These meetings serve as opportunities to plan events, discuss ongoing issues, and learn from guest speakers. All members are encouraged to attend and contribute ideas. How to Join New members are always welcome! No previous experience is needed—just a passion for justice and a willingness to learn and engage. If you’re interested, come to one of our meetings or contact us via email or social media for more information
