The TRU South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) was created following the founding of Canada’s newest law school in over 33 years at Thompson Rivers University and is now the largest SALSA Chapter in North America. The primary purpose of SALSA is to encourage South Asian law students to explore legal, political and social issues and aspirations pertaining to their unique heritages and communities. Further, the club aims to promote leadership, equality, and community service opportunities amongst law students at Thompson Rivers University. The club also works to establish strong relationships with legal professionals in the South Asian community. Lastly, the South Asian Law Students Association encourages students to participate in projects and dialogue with their peers and other professionals outside of the South Asian community in order to further develop the legal profession by establishing strong cross-cultural relationships.
