The Department of Philosophy, History, and Politics (PHD Department) is hosting a distinguished scholar, Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, who will be delivering a talk on “The Partition of the Indian Subcontinent and Its Consequences” on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Dr. Ahmed is an internationally renowned political scientist, historian, and author, widely recognized for his extensive research on South Asian politics and history. His lecture will explore the causes, aftermath, and lasting consequences of the 1947 Partition, drawing on insights from his acclaimed books, including The Punjab: Bloodied, Partitioned and Cleansed, Jinnah: His Successes, Failures and Role in History, and Pakistan: The Garrison State.
