Breaking Bread

Breaking Bread connects TRU students with community leaders for meaningful conversations over shared meals, fostering dialogue, connection, and learning beyond the classroom.

Community. Conversation. Connection.

Learning at Thompson Rivers University goes far beyond the classroom. In-depth conversations with peers and with experts about contemporary social and political issues is an integral part of the university experience and a longstanding tradition on campuses.

Our Breaking Bread project aims to connect students with community leaders, one conversation at a time. We invite diverse community leaders with a wide range of expertise and interests to have conversations and share food with small groups of students. Our hope is to build community, share perspectives, foster connection, and restore community conversation.

If you have an idea for a topic, know a great community leader we should connect with, or are interested in joining an upcoming conversation contact our Campaigns Coordinator. Please note that spots are limited.
