The TRU Criminal Law Club aims to provide students with more information and guidance on careers in criminal law by organizing networking opportunities, posting about webinars and current events and facilitating mentorship between upper years and incoming students. Each year, the club also hosts a mock bail hearing where students can step into the roles of Crown and defence counsel to practice advocacy in a realistic courtroom setting. This event offers a hands-on learning experience and valuable feedback from practicing criminal lawyers.
