Welcome to the TRUSU Chef’s Package Program!

At TRU, we understand the challenges that students face when it comes to pursuing a post-secondary education. Higher tuition costs, expensive textbooks, and rising inflation can create significant financial burdens, making it difficult for students to meet their basic needs, including access to nutritious food. We believe that no student should have to face food insecurity while striving for their academic goals.

That’s why we established the TRUSU Chef’s Package Program with the goal of increasing food security for students at TRU. Our program is designed to alleviate the financial constraints that students experience and provide them with the support they need during their academic journey. Over the years, the chefs package program has successfully supported hundreds of TRU students, and we remain dedicated to helping many more this year and beyond.

How does the program work?

So, how does the TRUSU Chef’s Package Program work? It’s simple. Every month, our dedicated TRUSU Services committee provides customized chef’s packages to students for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis. These packages are carefully curated to ensure that each student receives multiple ingredients and an easy-to-follow recipe, enabling them to cook at least two healthy, home-cooked, and delicious meals.

By providing these chef’s packages, we aim to empower students with the necessary resources to prepare nutritious meals and improve their overall well-being. We understand the importance of good nutrition in supporting academic success and believe that no student should have to compromise on their health due to financial constraints.
