For the most part studying at TRU is a rewarding and life changing experience. However, from time-to-time students can experience some issues/conflict that seriously impacts their ability to focus on their studies and educational experience.
Occasionally students will have a dispute with a landlord, an employer, their faculty/the University at large, or some other party and will need assistance or support in navigating through those disputes. While we do our best at the Union to provide our members with advice and support in these instances, sometimes the nature of the dispute is simply beyond our ability here at TRUSU.
It is for this reason that we have formed an ongoing partnership with the TRU Community Legal Clinic to offer Pop Up Legal Clinics on campus in the Students’ Union building once a month. This partnership will allow TRUSU members to access legal advice to assist with their disputes free of charge and without having to travel off campus. This saves students both time and money while still getting them the support they need.
