Do you ever feel like social media is both your best friend and your biggest critic? Are you curious about how endless scrolling, double-tapping, and the race for likes are impacting your mental well-being? Have you ever wondered how the digital world shapes the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and our reality? Whether you’re an avid poster, a casual viewer, or a mindful detoxer, your perspective matters—and we want to hear it.

Join us for an intimate and thought-provoking conversation on “Social Media and Mental Health for Students.” This discussion will explore the highs and lows of social media, from its role as a source of inspiration and connection to its challenges, such as comparison, stress, and digital burnout. Together, we’ll share experiences and brainstorm ways to reclaim control over our online lives.

This Breaking Bread session, hosted by the TRUSU Campaigns Committee and supported by local community advocates, invites TRU students, staff, and faculty to join the conversation. The event will take place at TRU on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

As part of the TRU Students’ Union’s Breaking Bread Series, this session provides a chance to unplug, connect over a free lunch, and dive into one of the most pressing topics of our time. If this resonates with you, sign up below! Spaces are limited, and registration is first come, first serve.
