The Thompson Rivers University Students’ Union (TRUSU) is looking to fill job openings for baristas in its Common Grounds Coffee Shop for the upcoming Fall and Winter semesters (September 01, 2024 – April 30, 2025). The available positions will have a fixed semesterly schedule with shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 10:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Hours for these positions range from 10 – 20 hours a week based on student availability.

Common Grounds Baristas will be expected to make and serve food/beverages as well as to complete regular cleaning and administrative tasks that support our food-service operations. Applicants should have customer service experience and excellent communications. Food-service experience is preferred but is not required. Applicants should be able to lift weight up to 50lbs. 

Interviews will be conducted on August 6 – 7, 2024, via Microsoft Teams. Only shortlisted candidates will be sent an interview request. Successful applicants will be required to participate in a mandatory orientation on August 22 – 23, and complete at least one training shift between August 24 and August 31. Applicants not available on those dates need not apply.
